Medical Alert
Due to the cold weather conditions, we are seeing many students with bleeding chapped lips and very dry skin. Some of the students are complaining of difficulty in eating because their lips are so sore. Please take a few minutes each morning and evening to provide good skin care for your child with a treatment of vaseline and lotion. Also, drinking lots of water helps too. Water bottles at school would be a great idea. Roxanne Comens, RN
Late Start
On late start days, staff supervision will be provided at 9:40a.m. Doors will open for students at 10a.m. The tardy bell will ring at 10:10a.m. Please be mindful of this when dropping off your child, if you arrive before 9:40, have your child wait with you in the car until supervision is available. Thank you.

OB's Got Character
January's Character Word of the month is FAIRNESS. Having the opportunity to have a SNO cone after recess is SNO much fun! However, it's SNO fun when you don't play fair at recess! Fair does not always mean equal. Please take this opportunity to talk with you kids about the importance of playing FAIRLY at recess!
Family Tech Week
Our 2nd Annual OB Family Tech week is fast approaching! Monday February 3- Friday, February 7. Don't miss this exciting week of connecting through technology with our students. Check with your child’s teacher to determine what day/time you can join them in the computer lab.
We are collecting old technology equipment to recycle, so please consider donating your unwanted equipment to our technology vintage display. After Tech Week, Spectrum Ecycle will recycle your equipment for free.

Peabody Award
We are so proud of the wonderful staff we have at Old Bonhomme and in our District, so it is excellent when others recognize it too!
Hayley Arnold, Counselor at Old Bonhomme Elementary, learned Tuesday at a surprise assembly in her honor, that she was a Peabody Energy Leader in Education Award recipient. It was covered by KSDK. See the link below!

In November, our former Learning Lab teacher, Angela Kelly, who is now at the Fifth Grade Center, was also selected as a Peabody Energy Leader in Education!
Educators are nominated for this award and then chosen in a blind review by a panel of community members. Each honoree is awarded a check for $1,000 and participates in an annual recognition gala where one will get a check for $5,000!
