MLK NIGHT - TUESDAY, JANUARY 19
It’s a Surprise Party, of sorts! The theme this year... ‘Color My World’. Art inspires collaboration, community, dreams, and emotion. Students from a variety of grade levels will be performing a diverse array of poetry, art, music and dance at the high school. We welcome special guest artist, John Jansky. He will create a portrait in a matter of minutes. Who will he paint? Well, that’s the surprise! Come celebrate Dr. King with our students and John Jansky. Here’s a hint, the portrait is of a person who entered college at the age of 15! Any guesses? Join us in the Performing Arts Center at Ladue High School on Tuesday, January 19 at 7:00 p.m. to find out.
SOCKS AND SANDWICHES SERVICE PROJECT - JANUARY 18
Thank You! We have been collecting loads of socks for our annual Socks and Sandwiches event. Also, thank you for contributing meat, cheese and bread this week. We are very appreciative and look forward to making sandwiches on Monday morning. It is a wonderful community effort to honor Dr. King on our day of service.
FROM THE COUNSELOR
Presenters Needed Week of January 25
Elementary is a time for children to be exposed to different career opportunities. We are looking for parents and/or grandparents to come in and present about their career. During the thirty-minute presentation, we would like for the following points to be addressed:
  • Describe your career
  • What subjects you need to be good at to have this career
  • Some of the things you did as an elementary student that led you to this career
  • What character traits are important to have in this career field
  • Discuss what kind of training you received to be in this career
You are welcome to bring in displays and hand material out to the students. If you are available, please click here to sign up.

LEF Initiatives and Capital Campaign
With more than nine years of work dedicated to enhancing the excellence of the Ladue School District, the Ladue Education Foundation (LEF) is continuing to provide extraordinary learning opportunities to our students through teacher grants for programs in neuroscience, character education, music, art, computer coding, 3D modeling, and much more.
In addition, the LEF is raising awareness and funds to support the Ladue School District’s proposed high school renovation.
"We are fully engaged in helping the district in its efforts regarding this crucial initiative," explains LEF Executive Director Kristen Wild.

The LEF has already raised close to $2 million in pledges in the first phase of its capital campaign to support the proposed renovation of Ladue Horton Watkins High School. READ MORE: LEF Quarterly Newsletter, Dec. 11, 2015
