FDA Warning Regarding Cumin
Chartwells, the district's food service provider, has advised the district that on February 19, 2015, the FDA issued a consumer alert for people highly allergic or sensitive to peanuts. These individuals are advised to avoid products containing ground cumin or cumin powder, as some shipments of these products have tested positive for undeclared peanut protein. Based on this information, Chartwells has removed all foods containing cumin from menus for peanut- allergic students and "peanut free" schools. For more information see the post: "FDA Alert Regarding Cumin and Peanut Allergies" at www.ladueschools.net.

Old Bonhomme parents and guardians,
please tell us what you think!
Your input is always appreciated, but sometimes finding time to pick up the phone or write a note is not always possible. Each year we use Survey Monkey, an on-line tool, to gather your input. Last year we only collected 44 responses. Your input is helpful and we’d love an even greater response this year!
The survey can be accessed from any computer since it is internet-based. If you would like to use our computers at school, you may stop by the computer lab while here for parent-teacher conferences next week.
Access the survey beginning Monday, March 2, at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/YHGMGSXParent_Climate_Survey_2015 or from a link on the Old Bonhomme School website. The survey will be available until March 27. Your time and input is valued! Cheryl Kirchgessner, Principal

Nurse’s Notes
Parents, just a reminder that medication cannot be sent to school with your child per district policy. All medicine must be given directly to the school nurse by the parent/ guardian. Also, please make sure the medication is kept in the original bottle with the prescription label attached. Thank you!
SAFETY REMINDERS
No Cell Phone Use (including Texting) on the school parking lot during arrival and dismissal. Let’s all focus on the children and adults helping them.
If you pull into a parking space in the morning, you need to walk your child through the moving traffic to reach the canopy. Children should not be moving unaccompanied through the parking lot while other cars are dropping off.
BoxTops Reminder
Our annual year-end boxtops submission is March 2, so we need all boxtops to OB by February 27! If you collect boxtops after February 27, we still want them, they will just go towards our next submission in the Fall.
