PTO NEWS
The Old Bonhomme PTO has been very fortunate to complete several successful fundraisers during this school year. Fundraisers included the Bowling 4 Bonhomme Event, Square 1 Art, wrapping paper sales, Scrip Card sales, and the After-School classes. We thank each of you for donating your time and resources to help us raise money for the children and the school. We (meaning you!) have been able to fund several exciting events for the children so far this year including the Back-to-School picnic, classroom parties, field trips to Powell Hall and the Botanical Gardens (including bus fees!), dramatic storytellers for several grades, 8 mini grants for teachers to support curriculum, and the UNsorted play for all kids. In addition, we have been able to provide the following items that all families will enjoy: a Buzz Book for each family, Field Day t-shirts for each child, and new outdoor benches on the upper blacktop. Again, thank you for your support! We look forward to another great semester!
BoxTops Reminder
Our annual year-end boxtops submission is March 2, so we need all boxtops to OB by February 27! If you collect boxtops after February 27, we still want them, they will just go towards our next submission in the Fall.

OB’S GOT CHARACTER
February's Character Word of the Month at OB is COMPASSION. Compassion means caring about other people. When someone is feeling hurt or sad, your heart wants that person to feel better. Consider talking as a family about ways you have/could show compassion.
Valentine Mailbox Reminder:
The Valentine mailbox is open!!! This is a great way to send Valentine cards to anybody in the school. Parents, feel free to use the mailbox for your own personal Valentines. What could be more special than a Valentine from mom or dad, delivered to your son or daughter at school?
Reminders!!!
• Last pick-up will be Wednesday, February 11 at
12:00 p.m. We need to close early in order to get all Valentines sorted and delivered!
• All Valentine cards must be in an envelope with only the “TO:” portion on it written in print.
• Cards must have the recipient’s first and last name and class name (grade then teacher's initial)
Example: To: John Doe - KB
• Printwritingonly–NOCURSIVE!!!
• No candy is allowed! This is true for all Valentine cards, both in the school mailbox and within your room.
• The Post Office is for cards for children and
teachers in other classrooms.
Please remember that Valentine's Day is for everyone! If your child brings Valentines on Thursday, February 12, please be sure that there is a valentine for each member of the class.
Classroom valentines will be distributed in the classroom – they should not go in the school mailbox. Thank you for your cooperation. Happy Valentine's Day!
